On Tuesday, March 1st, Noel D'Allacco's Event Planning & Promotions class held a Mardi Gras Event at 7-Eleven. The class worked closely with Paolo Vicinelli, the manager at 7-Eleven. They organized the event which included free food and slurpie samples, Mardi Gras themed decor and music, as well as a prize wheel that customers got to spin with their purchase. The class learned hands on how to plan an event, and how to have it run smoothly from start to finish. The class also focused heavily on social networking as a means of promotion for this event. They even set up a Facebook page and Twitter page for the store.
The students dedicated a lot of time to create a buzz and learned that coordinating an event takes a lot of effort and that teamwork is very important.
