CW welcomed new day students' parents to the college as a way
to provide an opportunity for the parents to learn more about their
students' educational experience here at the college.
The orientation included a welcome from President Karen Smith. Jean Carlson, Dean of Student Academic Services, explained how college students are considered adults when they enter college. Daphe Galkin, Associate Dean of Academic Services, described the academic support services of advisement, counseling, and tutoring. Dr. Judith Lilleston, Director of Student Success and Retention, gave an overview of the Freshman Year Experience at CW. The Orientation also included a student panel where Joshua Alvarez and Fernando Hernandez shared their personal educational stories as a student with the audience.
Family members were able to talk one-on-one with faculty and student coaches as they were given a better sense of what CW is all about.
Quotes from some of the parents:
"Everyone was so helpful in explaining everything."
"I found this program helpful because it gave me the opportunity to learn more about the school, faculty, and resources available."
"We just want to thank you for all of your help."
