Over the
last couple of weeks, thanks to Professor Jean-Paul Le Du’s
organization efforts, the CW community has been collecting food,
cleaning supplies and basic hygiene items for Staten Island and Brooklyn
residents affected by Hurricane Sandy. Mr. Le Du has joined forces
with Thomas Joseph Perone Catering who has been taking the food
donations to help make meals for Staten Island and Brooklyn residents
affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Additionally, under the direction of Joan Williams, Admissions Associate, The College of Westchester’s Creative Evolution Club recently held a luncheon fundraiser to also benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy and they raised $600.00. CW is matching these funds so that a total of $1200.00 will be donated to Thomas Joseph Perone Catering and their efforts of providing meals to those in need.
The outpouring of generosity from students, faculty and staff has been quite inspiring and CW is happy to help who those lost so much and is hopeful that they soon will recover and overcome this tragic event.
