Monecia Samuel, Director of Library Receives Grant

The College of Westchester is proud to announce, Monecia Samuel, Director and Library Learning Services at CW is one of 4 recipients out of 50 colleges and universities competing across the nation to receive a $1,500 professional development grant from the Copyright Clearance Center.

The Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) began making scholarship opportunities available in 2013 to help professional full-time librarians attend industry events for professional development purposes. To be considered for the 2014 Mid-Winter scholarship award, each applicant submitted three essays addressing questions related to their professional  development goals, grant funding need and overall interest in copyright compliance at their institution.

The winning librarians will be recognized for their awards at the American Library Association Mid-Winter Conference in Philadelphia, PA later this month. The College of Westchester is the only proprietary college to receive this award  to date.
