A NASCAR Experience
As part of a learning experience, CW students were invited to participate in a conversation via videoconference to discuss several topics about NASCAR. The second-highest rated regular season sport on TV – only after NFL – took center stage and marketing students were excited about the experience. “There’s nothing like seeing the real thing. I really liked the NASCAR experience,” said a Principles of Marketing Student who participated in the chat.
Scott Rovn, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Phoenix International Speedway answered many questions from students including NASCAR’s diversity initiatives among minorities, marketing strategies and how the Mexico Toyota Series Practice plans to attract the whole Latino audience in the country. “I liked the idea of speaking with experts in the industry. This type of conversation helps you understand if what you’re studying is really what you want to do in the future,” said another student.
The NASCAR experience was possible thanks to Dr. Warren Rosenberg who brought the idea to Dr. James McGee and Prof. Noel D’Allacco’s classes.
