In honor of the autistic teenager Avonte Oquendo, the Accounting Society put together a bake sale to raise funds and fight autism, “He was only 14 years old and he was found dead, he was autistic. We wanted to raise money for that cause, and all the Accounting Society decided that the money from this bake sale will go to Autism Speaks,” said Margarida Oliveira, president of the Accounting Society at CW.

Autism Speaks is an organization whose goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. Along with the donation to Autism Speaks, the Accounting Society is also participating in a walk not yet scheduled.
