Daphne and Diana Speak Out at National Conference



Last month, Daphne Galkin, Assistant Dean of Academic Services and Diana Cusumano, Counselor, attended the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) in Orlando, FL. The two had the chance to present at this National Conference after submitting a proposal that was accepted. NACADA had over 7,000 attendees and over 300 concurrent sessions.


Their presentation was: Creating a Retention Squad: Bringing Your College’s “Characters” Together to Improve Attendance and Student Success. Daphne and Diana shared three initiatives in place at CW that have yielded positive results and have helped to improve daily attendance and overall student success and retention.

In 2008, Daphne was nominated and won the Outstanding New Advisor award.
