Introducing two new full time staff members to the CW Library:
Johnamarie Macias is the new Reference and Instruction Librarian. She graduated from Cornell University where she studied archaeology, and most recently Queens College, where she earned her library science degree. Ms. Macias worked for Cornell Libraries while earning her bachelor’s degree and also worked for the Municipal Archives in New York City before pursuing graduate studies. Johnamarie will provide reference services and instructional outreach to students and faculty in the Day, Evening and Saturday Colleges.
Christa DeFaber will fill a newly created position, called Digital Services Librarian. Christa is a graduate of SUNY Purchase and Long Island University, where she earned degrees in History and Library and Information Science respectively. Ms. DeFaber will serve online students and on-ground students. She will also maintain the Library’s digital presence on internal and external sites. Christa will provide virtual services to online faculty and their students by making herself available through online chat, text reference and telephone communication.
