Digital Media Students Connect with Employers
With consumers connected to the digital sphere throughout the day, it’s clear that digital media is the wave of the future in new technologies. Many companies increase their investing every year in Internet video ads, multimedia commercials and other online ad types which increase the demand for well-prepared professionals in this area. CW is aware of that and its Career Services department recently presented the “Digital Media Symposium”. “The Symposium was a venue for students, faculty and industry experts to discuss the potential for creative collaboration and explore the evolution of entertainment and new technologies,” said Roselle Glick, Career Counselor and Adjunct Instructor.
Digital Media Students had the opportunity to present their work and receive valuable feedback from professionals in the industry. Employers that attended were Brian Funicelli, senior community manager from Silverback Social, Lee Sheldon, author of Character Development and Storytelling for Games and The Multiplayer Classroom: Designing Coursework as a Game, Jeff Chandler, owner of Art Gecko Studies, Peyton Broyd, Sarah Lashar, and Lauren Pascoa from indeed.com.
Some of the feedback included:
“Students were grateful that our speakers were able to share their knowledge and experience with us. We were excited to bring these innovators to CW this year and look forward to next year’s event”
“I was so happy to have the opportunity to speak with the students as well as network with the other speakers and meet new people. I had a great time, and I'm looking forward to the next opportunity that arises”
“We are always looking for passionate and dedicated students, and that’s what we had here… digital marketing in mobile platforms is growing and we saw great work from the students"
