Women Empowered; Empowering Others
CW students had the opportunity to hear speeches from professional women, including the event host, Carmen Tirado-Rodriguez of the United Hispanic Construction Workers, Inc. There were musical performances, food, prizes, and it was a great opportunity for students to mingle with other professionals. Prof. Noelle D’Allaco received a Benevolent Award that evening for her work with Operation PROM. The other award recipient was Louisa McTurner, the owner of Weezie D. Boutique, won the Entrepreneur Award, as she is the youngest, and only female African-American woman to own a store in Bronxville, NY. Also, Louisa McTurner will be speaking this coming Monday at two of our classes: Project Management and Event Planning and Promotion.
