Shamva Wright-Shingler - Faculty of the Year

“I started at The College of Westchester as an Evening Adjunct Instructor five years ago, and after six months of service I joined the full-time faculty.  Because of my dedication to the college’s mission, The CW Way, and my commitment to teaching and learning, I was promoted to the Allied Health department’s Assistant Chairperson position.  I chose to teach in Allied Health and at The College of Westchester because I enjoy sharing my knowledge and enlightening the way for others to become successful medical professionals. I feel that teaching is my life’s purpose. CW has allowed me to bring my formal education and training as a chiropractor into the delivery of educating its students.  As an Instructor, my purpose is not to create students in my own image, but to develop students who can create their own image. I encourage them to set their goals high enough to inspire them and low enough to encourage them.”
