The faculty of The College of Westchester (CW) has selected Madiha Kanwal of Ossining as CW’s Student of the Semester for the Fall of 2009. In an effort to recognize Madiha for her outstanding achievements, Karen J. Smith, President of The College of Westchester, presented Madiha with a gift certificate and her own designated parking spot for the semester.
Madiha is an Accounting major who will graduate in August. While attending CW, Madiha has been very active in student activities. She is the president of the Accounting Society, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and a new member of the Honors Program. She has received the Student Spirit & Perfect Attendance Awards, and with her 4.00 GPA has achieved the President’s List for several semesters. She is also a work study student in the Library and says she “loves CW because the teachers and faculty have always guided her and helped her in her studies”.
Madiha plans on continuing with her education and wants to become a Certified Public Accountant. We congratulate Madiha on all her achievements!
