NASCAR and Marketing at CW
The Principles of
Marketing class got a new NASCAR experience. Last February students were
invited to participate in a videoconference to discuss basic aspects
about NASCAR races. During this opportunity John Chuhran,
president of Chuhran Associates, a NASCAR Consulting Firm, spoke to CW
students about several aspects of sponsorship during live sports events
such as NASCAR races. Topics included levels of sponsorship depending on
the position of the company logo on the car, helmet, hat, etc, as well
as marketing strategies during TV interviews. According to Chuhran an
investment with NASCAR can range from thousands of dollars to several
million dollars a year depending on the level of commitment from the
company.
