Monecia Samuel, The College of
Westchester Director of Library Learning Services, is not at all new to
situations of reviewing scholarship applications. For quite some time now, she
has been helping CW students obtain prestigious external scholarships such as
the i3
scholar program and Clemson
Institute for the Study of Capitalism Conference.
Now, however, she will be undertaking this task at an even higher and more
competitive level.
Mary Beth Del Balzo, Senior Executive Vice President and
COO of CW states, “We are very excited to announce that Monecia Samuel has been
appointed to serve on the prestigious Fulbright Scholar Peer Review
Committee.” Miss Samuel shared, “I feel frozen with excitement…
Endurance throughout my academic and professional career has been important.
Fortunately, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars makes the
overall experience clear and attractive for prospective Fulbright program
participants,” For the 2015-2016 cycle, Miss Samuel will review and rank
approximately 30 Fulbright applications electronically and independently as one
of three members of a Discipline Peer Review Committee for Library Science
applications.
Fulbright awardees have included
students, scholars, teachers and other professionals from various disciplines.
